t Al Rabeeh School, our Lower Primary curriculum for Year 1 and Year 2
is designed to build on the strong foundation established in the Foundation Stage, following the British National Curriculum. We focus on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for students aged 5 to 7, where they can thrive academically and socially.
Confident Learners
A key component of our curriculum is the implementation of Read Write Inc. (RWI) phonics, a structured and effective approach to teaching reading and writing. Through RWI, students develop essential phonetic skills that empower them to decode words confidently and foster a love for reading. Our dedicated educators provide targeted instruction, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to become proficient readers and writers across the curriculum.
In addition to literacy, our Lower Primary curriculum emphasises Mathematics; taught using White Rose Maths; Science, Humanities and Arts, encouraging students to explore, question, and connect their learning to real-world experiences through the CUSP Unity Curriculum. We promote collaborative learning and critical thinking, helping students develop essential skills for their future education.
