Home / Beyond the Classroom
At Al Rabeeh School
we believe in a holistic approach to education that extends beyond the classroom. We offer students a range of extra-curricular activities, including sports, the arts, and community service, fostering personal growth and social skills. We aim to nurture well-rounded individuals who are prepared for life’s challenges, encouraging exploration and discovery outside the traditional academic setting.
Student Leadership
At Al Rabeeh School, student leadership is at the heart of our educational philosophy. We empower students through roles such as the Student Council, Head Boy, Head Girl, and Wellbeing Ambassadors, Ambassadors of the Nation, fostering essential skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. Through various leadership opportunities, our students learn to inspire their peers and make positive contributions to the school environment. We believe that effective leaders are not only role models but also advocates for change. Our student leadership programmes are designed to cultivate confidence and responsibility, preparing students for future challenges. Together, we are building a generation of leaders who are ready to make a difference.
Sports
At Al Rabeeh School, we are committed to promoting students’ physical wellbeing through a structured, inclusive and engaging sports programme. Our facilities include a sports hall, a hard court area and an astro-turf area, enabling students to participate safely in a broad range of activities such as basketball, football, rugby, athletics and fitness-based sessions. Opportunities for physical activity are embedded throughout the school day, including organised movement activities that support healthy lifestyles. Our sports provision encourages teamwork, resilience and positive attitudes to competition, while supporting students’ physical, social and emotional development. Through high-quality physical education opportunities, we ensure that all students, regardless of ability, are actively engaged, supported and encouraged to develop confidence, skills and a lifelong commitment to health and wellbeing.
Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs)
At Al Rabeeh School, our Extra-Curricular Programme enriches the educational experience by offering a diverse range of activities that foster creativity, leadership, and personal growth. Students can explore their interests through clubs, sports, the arts, and community service initiatives. From music and drama to robotics and debate, our programmes encourage teamwork and self-expression. Participation in these activities helps students develop vital skills, build friendships, and enhance their overall well-being. We believe that a well-rounded education extends beyond the classroom, and our Extra-Curricular Programme provides invaluable opportunities for students to thrive both academically and socially. At Al Rabeeh School, we are always looking for ways to enhance our students’ experience and are exploring many new and exciting opportunities for ECAs, including the Junior Duke Award.
Competitions
Our school actively encourages students to take part in a variety of competitions, fostering both academic and athletic excellence. We proudly participate in the ADEK Cup for football, where our teams showcase their skills and teamwork. Students also excel in reading competitions, Qur’an recital contests, and other academic challenges, building confidence and talent. Additionally, many of our students engage in sports such as jiu-jitsu and swimming outside of school, representing us with distinction at local and national levels. These opportunities help our students grow, develop resilience, and experience the thrill of healthy competition while promoting school spirit and unity.
At Al Rabeeh School, our House System plays a central role in building a strong sense of community, teamwork and school pride from the moment students first join ARS. All students are placed into one of four houses: Kestrel (Yellow), Eagle (Blue), Hawk (Green) or Falcon (Red). Through regular inter-house competitions, events and challenges, students earn house points by demonstrating effort, teamwork, leadership and positive behaviour. The House System encourages healthy competition, strengthens relationships across year groups and promotes our school values, while giving every student the opportunity to contribute, succeed and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Library
Our school library is a vibrant space designed to foster a love of reading in all students. Starting from Year 3, students engage with the Accelerated Reader programme, which helps track and enhance their reading progress through personalised book choices and quizzes. The library offers a wide selection of books to suit all interests and reading levels, in both English and Arabic, including access to digital books, ensuring that students can always find something that excites them. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for reading, nurturing creativity and curiosity in every child.
Around Our Campus
At Al Rabeeh School, we prioritise outdoor play as an essential part of our students’ development. Our playgrounds feature two purpose-built play areas specifically designed for our younger students, encouraging imaginative play and physical activity. The astro-turf area provides a safe space for various sports and games, promoting teamwork and fitness. Additionally, our numerous benches and picnic tables offer a comfortable environment for relaxation and social interaction, allowing students to enjoy the outdoors. These thoughtfully designed spaces enhance our commitment to creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for all our students.
Al Rabeeh School provides dedicated prayer spaces, offering students a quiet and respectful space to observe their daily prayers during the school day. We place great emphasis on instilling strong Islamic values, promoting integrity, kindness, and respect for others. Through Islamic education and regular religious practices, we aim to nurture a deep sense of faith and moral responsibility, helping students grow into compassionate, responsible members of the community.
Trips and Visits
Al Rabeeh School is committed to providing enriching, real-world learning experiences beyond the classroom. Each year, we organise a variety of educational trips and excursions that align with the curriculum, offering students opportunities to explore new environments, engage with local culture, and deepen their understanding of academic topics. These outings, to places such as Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain, and many destinations across Abu Dhabi, are designed to broaden students’ perspectives, promote teamwork, and develop essential life skills. Al Rabeeh School ensures that all trips are well-planned, safe, and contribute meaningfully to students’ educational growth.
Holiday Camps
Al Rabeeh School’s Holiday Camps, run by a range of third parties and our own school activities team, provide engaging, fun-filled programmes for students during school breaks. These camps offer a wide range of activities designed to keep children active, entertained, and learning in a relaxed environment. From sports and creative arts to team-building games and skill development, the camps cater to various interests and age groups. Led by experienced coaches and instructors, they focus on physical fitness, social interaction, and personal growth. Al Rabeeh School and its partners ensure that all activities are safe, well-organised, and designed to promote both enjoyment and the development of new skills in a supportive atmosphere.
